Born in London but I have lived most of my life in Aberdeen, Scotland. For 24 years I worked for NHS Education, monitoring the progress of medical school graduates over the first 2 years of training. In 2013 I changed career direction, and am currently employed in the UK voluntary sector. I am a grandmother to 3 lovely children who have the benefits of living in western society.
I first met Simon when he was a medical student and was immediately interested in the distressing story he told of childhood life in rural Rwanda. Solange's story reduced me to tears. Over time I have come to know more about the charity and was honoured when the Trustees asked me to join them. Initially tasked with fundraising for new classrooms, I am now concentrating my administrative skills on the Child Sponsorship programme.
