Bugarama has 7 oversubscribed primary schools that lie within the attachment area to 2 secondary schools.
This overcrowding compromises the quality of education, attendance rates and the overall experience.
Between RSVP’s partners, HATW (Hands Around The World) and the national government, there has been a significant push to increase the number of classrooms.
Mihabura has seen a particularly dramatic transformation from images of mud walls that collapsed during class time to the current appearance of two-story brick buildings with a kitchen and basketball court. Class size remains an issue but the progress made so far has been huge.
